Our Inspiration
Oliver’s Foundation was born out of the love and support we received from our community during one of the most difficult times in our lives. After the heartbreaking loss of our youngest son, we found it nearly impossible to manage even the simplest of daily tasks. Cooking meals or leaving the house to pick up essential supplies felt overwhelming.
In those dark moments, a coworker and Oliver’s teacher extended a helping hand by sending us gift cards for delivery services. These thoughtful gestures, sent via text and mail, allowed us to order food and home necessities with ease. It gave us the space to stay home, grieve, and focus on our family when we needed it most.
The funeral home also stepped in to ease some of our burden by providing Oliver’s cremation. The emotional weight of losing our son was unbearable, and the financial strain that could have come with it was something we couldn’t have faced alone.
Making a Real Difference
Losing a child creates an immediate need for support, whether you realize it or not. It’s not that we didn’t want help—many people reached out, asking, “What can we do to help?” While we appreciated the kind gestures, we often responded by saying we were okay financially and physically. However, the truth was that our minds and hearts were not in a place to openly accept or even articulate what we needed. Answering these questions left us feeling vulnerable. What we came to realize was how meaningful it was to receive simple, unsolicited acts of kindness. Small, thoughtful gifts or gestures—given without the expectation of a reply or a specific request—had an impact far greater than we could have ever imagined.

Our foundation is dedicated to supporting families in need of financial relief, especially those who share experiences similar to our own. Through our mission, we aim to provide comfort, create a sense of shared purpose, and offer a meaningful way to honor Oliver’s memory. In doing so, we hope to inspire hope and compassion, ensuring that Oliver’s legacy continues to illuminate the lives of others. The Oliver Funds focus on assisting families during the critical early stages following the loss of a child.
